Hope you had a wonderful half term!
We hope you all had a relaxing week off and got a good rest.
We've got a lot to do this half term, with trips, activities with Military Schools and getting ready for Easter!
Monday – Reading records to be handed in, then checked for home reading (3x a week).
Also, PE is still on Tuesday, so don't forget your kit!!
On Friday, you sit a weekly spelling test.
You will complete your spelling test and new spellings will be handed out.
Overall, it is important to say that we are always here to help, so come and find us if you need anything at all!

Here are some important websites you will need access to during the term:
Our Class Reader, as voted for by the class children, will be ‘Street Child’ by Berlie Doherty
The unforgettable tale of an orphan in Victorian London, based on the boy whose plight inspired Dr Barnardo to found his famous children’s homes.
When his mother dies, Jim Jarvis is left all alone in London. He is sent to the workhouse but quickly escapes, choosing a hard life on the streets of the city over the confines of the workhouse walls.
Struggling to survive, Jim finally finds some friends… only to be snatched away and made to work for the remorselessly cruel Grimy Nick, constantly guarded by his vicious dog, Snipe.
Will Jim ever manage to be free?
Year 5 will be focusing on Geography this half term. We will be comparing the town of Birkenhead to the city of Madrid in Spain, comparing the various human and physical features, weather patterns, learning how to use 6-digit grid references and linking it to our Spanish work in Modern Foreign Languages.
