Our latest Ofsted inspection
Cathcart Street Primary School was inspected in July 2026. Inspectors confirmed that safeguarding standards are met and identified areas of the school’s provision that need further attention.
The report recognises that leaders and governors understand the school’s strengths and areas for improvement, have identified the right priorities and are taking action to bring about positive change. Inspectors noted early improvements in the curriculum, pupils’ behaviour and children’s learning in the early years.
The report also highlights the positive, trusting relationships between pupils and staff. Pupils are safe and feel safe, and the school’s nurture provision and pastoral support help children feel secure and ready to learn.
We recognise that further work is needed to ensure these improvements are consistent and sustained. Our staff, leaders and governors are committed to addressing the report’s findings and working closely with families to help every child thrive.
