Reading

Children in Year 3 are expected to read their reading book at least 4 times a week to an adult and their reading log needs to be signed. If your reading log is not signed by an adult we will presume you have not read. Reading is also counted as homework, so if children fail to read at home they will need to spend break time reading. There will be rewards for children that are reading consistently.

*Reading logs will be checked regularly*

English
This term our book will be Fox written by Margaret Wild and Ron Brooks. This book is a Fable Tale and we will learn about morals and lessons that can  be learned from a Fable.

Maths
In maths this half term, we will be continuing our maths learning journey with Addition and Subtraction - making sure that we learn lots of important maths facts and being able to apply our knowledge to solving reasoning and problem solving. We will also be continuing our journey with learning Multiplication and Division. We will still be practising and rehearsing our multiplication facts and doing our best to remember and recall as many of them as possible.

TT Rockstars

In Year 3 we will be using TT Rockstars to help them recall and practise multiplication facts. Children should also be logging on TT Rockstar's as much as they can and practice their times tables. Their login details will be in the front of their reading log so they can practice at home. Some weeks children will be asked to complete TT Rockstar's as their homework so if your child can't log on please let us know.

Science
Our Science lessons will focus on Magnets and Forces.
We will learn to compare how different things move on different surfaces. We will observe how magnets attract or repel each other. Pupils will learn that magnets have two poles.
