Reading

Children in Year 3 are expected to read their reading book at least  times a week to an adult and their reading log needs to be signed. If your reading log is not signed by an adult we will presume you have not read. Reading is also counted as homework, so if children fail to read at home they will need to spend break time reading. There will be rewards for children that are reading consistently.

Please bring reading logs and reading books in regularly so that they can be updated. Thank you

English
This halt term we will be using two books to inspire our English lessons. The first book: Into the Forest by Anthony Browne will be used to help us write a narrative on being lost.

Our second book: The Secret Elephant by Ellan Rankin will be used to help us write a recount in the form of a diary entry.

Maths
In maths this half term, we will be continuing our maths learning journey with time to the nearest minute and learning about months and days. We will also revisit the four operations: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division and use these operations to help us solve problems. Year 3 will also be learning about Shape and Statistics during the summer term.

TT Rockstars

In Year 3 we will be using TT Rockstars to help them recall and practise multiplication facts. Children should also be logging on TT Rockstar's as much as they can and practice their times tables. Their login details will be in the front of their reading log so they can practice at home. Some weeks children will be asked to complete TT Rockstar's as their homework so if your child can't log on please let us know.
