Welcome to Year 3!
Term – Autumn 2 2023
I hope you had a lovely Half-term holiday. Welcome back!
Your teachers are:
Class Teacher: Mr Sanders
Teaching Assistants: Mr Morgan
We will be taking part in PE on a THURSDAY and you MUST come into school in your PE kit ready. A reminder of the PE kit information is;
- Black shorts/leggings/tracksuit bottoms
- White top
- Black Pumps
*Remember all of your clothes need to be labelled so that we don’t have any mix ups*
Each week spellings will be handed out on Thursday these are to be learnt at home during the week and they will be tested on the following Thursday.
Children in Year 3 are expected to read their reading book at least 3 times a week to an adult and their reading log needs to be signed. If your reading log is not signed by an adult we will presume you have not read. Reading is also counted as homework, so if children fail to read at home they will need to spend break time reading. There will be rewards for children that are reading consistently.
*Reading logs will be checked regularly*
Children should also be logging on TT Rockstar's as much as they can and practicing their times tables. Children's log in's can be found on a sticker at the front of their reading log. Some weeks children will be asked to complete TT Rockstar's as their homework so if your child can't log on please let us know.
We will be learning about lots of exciting things over the coming half term. You can find more information about these topics below. Our Geography topic is Village, towns and cities and we will be looking at different features of each one and why they are grouped this way. The children will also be exploring and investigating the question- Is Birkenhead a village, town or city?
