At Cathcart Street, PSHE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education) is at the heart of everything we do, from whole school and class assemblies, to the way we conduct ourselves in lessons and around school.  PSHE is central to our Code of Conduct and our Cathcart mantra; 'Learn today, aspire for life'.
PSHE is taught as discrete lessons on the timetable via the Jigsaw Programme. Pupils have further opportunities to develop their skills through visiting speakers, festival and celebration days, whole school elections, music opportunities, sporting and charity events.  In addition to quality teaching, pupil’s behaviour, attitudes, achievement and self-esteem all play a big part in developing pupils.
As part of the PSHE curriculum, pupils participate in sex and relationship education.  Please see the Jigsaw leaflet below for further information on the topics covered within each year group.
