I am extremely excited and proud to be the new Head teacher of such a wonderful, inclusive school. Cathcart Street is a happy, nurturing school, very much at the heart of the community and we pride ourselves on our positive and caring ethos. I look forward to continuing the excellent work of our school, keeping the children at the heart of all that we do. Cathcart Street is a special place for all of our children and families and I feel very lucky to be in my new role.
Cathcart Street is a warm, welcoming school with currently 226 children on roll. We are a one-form entry Primary School and provide an excellent 2 year old provision as well as pre-school and a popular breakfast club.
Cathcart Street Primary prides itself on the positive relationships between pupils and adults. The children are taught a broad and balanced curriculum by passionate, dedicated and skilful practitioners. In our school, every child is given the opportunity to fulfil their potential in a safe, calm, stimulating environment. We are ambitious in seeking to help each child discover who they are and ‘be their best self’. We want each child to be successful in their learning and make a meaningful contribution to the world.
Our school has a nurturing environment and strives to be a place of acceptance, kindness and respect for the beliefs of others and a sense of pride when others do well. It is about the fun, magic and laughter of school life and the making of all those memories that last.
