Dear Parents/Carers
In order to continue with our high standards of keeping everybody safe in school, can we inform you that you can now obtain your own Lateral Flow Tests to have at home.
The below information has been taken from - www.wirral.gov.uk/covid-19-testing/covid-19-testing-households-school-children.
All people in households with school children can now test themselves for COVID-19. People in childcare and support bubbles will also be able to get tested. This will help to stop the spread of the virus after children return to school.
How to get testing kits
Pick up testing kits in person, testing kits can be collected from the following venues:
- Hamilton Building car park, Conway Street, Birkenhead
- Car park off Civic Way near Civic Centre and Police Station,
Bebington - Car park off Seaview Road, near Liscard Community Facility Complex
- Heswall Library
They are open from 1:30pm to 7pm each day and you don't need an appointment.
Please see below a wider list of Covid-19 symptoms, which has been identified and as such we strongly advise you test your child if they are showing any of these symptoms and keep them at home until they are well enough to attend school. (Please follow the normal attendance process and inform school daily of any absence and if a test has been completed).
- Diarrhoea
- A persistent headache
- Fever and chills
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Fatigue
- Muscle of body ache
- Sore throat
- Congestion or runny nose
- Nausea or Vomiting
A full covid-19 test will still be requested if the Lateral Flow test is Positive or if any of the 3 main symptoms are shown
- A high temperature
- A new, continuous cough
- A loss or change to your sense of smell or taste
