Important Information
PE
We will be taking part in PE on a Thursday and you MUST have your PE kit ready for then. A reminder of the PE kit information is;
- Black shorts/leggings/tracksuit bottoms
- White top
- Black Pumps
*Remember all of your clothes need to be labelled so that we don’t have any mix ups*
In Year 3 you will receive 2 pieces of homework every week. These are Maths homework and English Homework. Both pieces of homework will be handed out on a Monday. Homework is due on the next Monday.
*Any children who have not brought in their homework by Friday will be expected to stay in at break or lunch time to finish it with no exceptions*
Spellings
Each week spellings will be handed out on Monday these are to be learnt at home during the week and they will be tested on the following Monday.
Reading
Children in Year 3 are expected to read their reading book at least 3 times a week to an adult and their reading log needs to be signed. If your reading log is not signed by an adult we will presume you have not read. Reading is also counted as homework, so if children fail to read at home they will need to spend break time reading. There will be rewards for children that are reading consistently.
*Reading logs will be checked every Tuesday*
TT Rockstar's
Children should also be logging on TT Rockstar's as much as they can and practicing their times tables. Children's log in's can be found on a sticker at the front of their reading log. Some weeks children will be asked to complete TT Rockstar's as their homework so if your child can't log on please let us know.
We will be learning about lots of exciting things over the coming half term. You can find more information about these topics below. Our history topic is about Ancient China and the Shang dynasty and learning about Fu Hao and how important they were. In science we are exploring how soils and rocks are formed and using chocolate in our experiments to replicate the process rocks go through. in Art we are looking at artists and sculptures from the Shang Dynasty to link with our History.
