World Book Day is due to take place on Thursday 3rd March 2016.
In order to make this as exciting an event as possible, we are asking all children to come into school that day dressed as their favourite character from a book, but also bring the book in with them so they can talk about it to the rest of the class.
There will be a celebration assembly at the end of the day, with a KS1 and a KS2 costume winner, picked by Mrs Richards.
The children will take part in a range of activities which are book related throughout the day which may include:
- Creating a book token design for a national competition;
- Designing a paper plate based on their favourite character for a whole school display;
- A trip to Waterstones/WH Smith to use their World Book Day token and exchange it for a book; and
- Complete a Big Book Off Challenge.
