School Meal Price Increase - Sept. 2018

We have been advised by our catering provider, Edsential,  that with effect from 1st September 2018, the price of a school meal will increase to £2.30 per day. Dinner money for one week will, therefore, be £11.50.

Please remember that all meals must be paid for in advance on a Monday morning for that week.

Monday is the day of the week when Ms Clayton in the office undertakes the administration of school meals when all monies have to be collected, balanced and banked. Extra work is involved when reminder letters or phone calls are needed to request late dinner money. Please ensure that you keep your account in credit.  Your help is much appreciated.

If you do not wish for your child(ren) to have a school meal please provide them with a healthy packed lunch.

If you think you may qualify for Free School Meals, please contact the Council for further information on 0151-606-2002. Alternatively, you can visit the council website at www.wirral.gov.uk/schools-and-learning/funding-and-financial-support/free-school-meals-pupil-premium.

Please remember that free school meals are a statutory right and it is important that you use it if you qualify.  Your child will then receive a school meal and milk each day.

We will be continuing with our ‘sugar swap & juice free days’ every Tuesday and Thursday, as well as Meat Free Fridays. From September, we will have reduced  sugar content by 25% in all our homemade sponge recipes. Also available daily are fresh bread, seasonal vegetables, salad, fresh fruit and organic yogurt.   All menus meet the School Food Standards and we are delighted to retain the ‘Food for Life Served Here' Bronze award, approved by the Soil Association ensuring the food on the plate is high quality.

If you have any queries regarding these arrears or wish to discuss the matter further please do not hesitate to contact the school office.
